Join us for an educational seminar about the Pan-London cardiogenic shock programme and learn how early recognition and timely treatment can improve outcomes for patients experiencing cardiogenic shock.
About the seminar
Cardiogenic shock is a serious medical emergency that occurs when the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. Recognising the condition early and ensuring patients receive the right care quickly can make a significant difference to outcomes.
What the seminar will cover
Topics covered during the seminar include:
- why cardiogenic shock matters and the importance of early intervention
- what cardiogenic shock is, what it is not, and how to recognise it
- recognising patients before they deteriorate
- what should happen in the first hour of care
- how the Pan-London network supports access to specialist treatment and helps patients reach the right care
- an interactive patient case study
- practical actions to take into clinical practice
Speakers
The seminar will be led by Susanna Price, Consultant Cardiologist and Intensivist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Clinical Lead for Critical Care, together with Clare Mellis, Lead Nurse for Cardiogenic Shock at Barts Health Cardiogenic Shock Service, and colleagues from the network team.
Questions
There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the seminar.
