Plaque unveiled at opening of the Children and Young People's Audiology Centre

Young patients Nii Addo (10) and Elodie Kuhn (2) helped to officially open the new Children and Young People’s Audiology Centre at St Thomas’ on 27 February.

They were joined by special guest Professor Adrian Davis, who led the introduction of the national newborn hearing screening programme in England, to unveil a plaque.

Nii and Elodie have both benefited from the high quality clinical care provided by staff in the state-of-the-art centre.

It includes a new, innovative hearing assessment service for autistic and complex needs children – the Hummingbird Clinic.

The Hummingbird Clinic is the only service of its kind in London and has been made possible by a £200,000 grant from Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.

An in-depth article about the new Children and Young People’s Audiology Centre will be included in the May edition of The GiST magazine.
