Armistice Day Service St Thomas' Hospital

Guy’s and St Thomas’ staff attended Armistice Day events in our hospitals and in the local community on Tuesday 11 November.

Patients, visitors and staff also observed a two-minute silence at 11am as part of the commemorations.

Local MP Kate Hoey participated in the Armistice Day service which took place in the gardens outside Gassiot House at St Thomas’ Hospital, with Big Ben providing the backdrop. A service was also held at Guy's Hospital.

Meanwhile staff from our community services took part in a service at Dulwich Community Hospital which was also attended by patients and local people.

Wreaths were laid to remember with gratitude the 119 soldiers who are named on the War Memorial in the grounds of the hospital.

More than 14,000 injured solders were treated at Dulwich Hospital during the First World War.
