Team GB’s Abdul Buhari, who visited children at the Evelina Children’s Hospital in late July, will be paying them another visit next week.

During Abdul’s first visit, he spent a number of hours talking to children on the ward and having photos taken with them. Abdul, who competed in discus for Team GB during the Games, enjoyed his first visit so much that he has requested a return visit to the hospital.

He achieved a competition throw of 60.08m at London 2012, placing him at 16th in the world, after recovering from a series of injuries and fitting his training around his day job as a city banker.

Abdul’s visit follows a series of appearances by Olympic ambassadors at the hospital. The children have enjoyed visits from Olympic torchbearers, games-makers and athletes over the months prior to and during London 2012.
