91% of staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’ would recommend the Trust to friends and family in need of care or treatment - higher than the national average of 76%.

The Staff Friends and Family Test, published for the first time on Thursday 25 September, reports the views of thousands of NHS employees in England.

In addition, 74% of Guy’s and St Thomas’ staff would recommend the Trust to friends and family as a place to work - also higher than the national average of 62%.

A total of 2,500 Guy’s and St Thomas’ staff responded to the Staff Friends and Family Test when it was carried out for the first time in June.

Ann Macintyre, Director of Workforce, says: “I am pleased that our staff have such positive views about working here and the care that we provide to our patients.

“The Staff Friends and Family Test gives us a good snapshot of staff views. It can help us to identify what we need to improve to make our care even better.”

Tim Kelsey, NHS England’s National Director for Patients and Information, adds: “We know it is important that the NHS listens to its staff, especially when it comes to the needs of our patients.

“We are encouraged that so many staff feel able to come forward and express an opinion. It is this sort of open culture that we want to encourage.”
