Guy’s and St Thomas’ has been shortlisted for a CHKS Top Hospitals Quality of Care Award.

CHKS provides healthcare intelligence and quality improvement services to the NHS. Its Top Hospitals awards recognise hospitals for their achievements in healthcare quality and improvement.

Jason Harries, CHKS managing director, says: “Every hospital is accountable to its patients, their families and carers as well as the local community to provide a safe environment.

“Our quality of care award highlights those trusts that clearly share a commitment to driving improvement and engendering a culture of excellence throughout their organisations and it is a credit to the staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’ that the Trust has been shortlisted for this award.”

The Quality of Care award is based on a number of criteria including the length of time patients stay in hospital and the rate of emergency re-admissions.

The CHKS Top Hospitals programme awards will be held in London on Tuesday 13 May.
