Waterloo East and Charing Cross station closures in July and August

Tuesday 30 June 2026

London Charing Cross and Waterloo East will close from Sunday 26 July to Sunday 16 August.

During the closures no trains will call at these stations.

If you’re travelling to St Thomas’ Hospital, Evelina London Children’s Hospital or Guy's Hospital, please plan your journey and allow extra time.

This 22-day closure will allow essential engineering work to take place, to keep the railway safe and reliable.

You can read more about this on the Network Rail website.

There will also be some additional weekend closures for preparation and follow-up work:

  • Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July
  • Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August
  • Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October.

What you can do if this affects you

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on alternative rail routes, London Underground and London Buses.
