Biography

After completing medical school, Claire worked in general internal medicine for two years (in Rotterdam, the Netherlands) and did a year of research on the quality of care of patients with diabetic foot infections in the Netherlands. After these years she did her official training in general internal medicine and infectious diseases (GIM/ID) in Rotterdam.

During training she was active within the Dutch society of internal medicine and obtained a diploma in the medical care of catastrophes (DMCC) in London. Claire also did limited research on transmitted drug resistance in the Dutch male HIV positive population and acquired further international work experience in Chile. 

She completed her specialty degree in 2012, and continued to work as a consultant in acute internal medicine and infectious diseases.

In 2013 Claire moved to London and worked as a locum in virology, followed by a locum contract as a consultant in GIM/ID at Guy's and St Thomas'. In January 2015 she was appointed as a part-time consultant in GIM/ID at Guy's and St Thomas'.
