Consultant podiatric (foot) surgeon


Diane Nicholl FCPodS is a consultant podiatric surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas'. She jointly runs a department of podiatric surgery dealing with foot and ankle problems. Surgery is performed under local anaesthetic at Guy's day surgery unit with pre and post operative consultations and dressings taking place at the Pulross Intermediate centre in Brixton.

Corrective foot surgery is performed on a day care basis allowing patients to return home the same day. Diane works closely with an experienced team of physiotherapists, radiologists and podiatrists to ensure minimal recovery time for all patients. She personally sees all patients during the pre-operative consultation period and monitors the outcome of all treatments or investigations.

Diane takes referrals from GPs, podiatrists, and physiotherapists and all over Southwark and Lambeth, for the surgical management of foot problems, including:

  • hallux valgus deformities (bunions)

  • arthritic big toe joint replacements and fusions

  • hammer toe corrections

  • tendon disorders of the foot

  • removal of ganglions and soft tissue lesions in the foot

  • achilles tendonitis

  • plantar Fasciitis

  • arthritic foot joints.
