Helen McEvoy


Consultant plastic surgeon


Helen McEvoy has been a consultant plastic surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' since 2011 (and worked at the Trust since 2008). She is a general plastic surgeon and has a particular interest in breast asymmetry, breast reduction, breast reconstruction, and all aspects of cosmetic breast surgery. She works closely with her dermatology colleagues at the St John's Institute of Dermatology and provides surgical management of various skin conditions. She also performs cosmetic surgery.

Helen has a keen interest in training and education in plastic surgery. She is a training programme director for plastic surgery for London and the south east, and is a clinical and educational supervisor for trainees at St Thomas' Hospital.

Helen studied medicine at Cambridge University and graduated in 1998. After basic surgical training in London, she spent time in research gaining her MSc with distinction. She then progressed onto higher surgical training in plastic surgery, gaining experience in major teaching hospitals throughout London. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Plast) in 2008 and then went on to specialist training in cancer reconstruction, undertaking a fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
