Biography
Ioannis Loukopoulos leads the robotic kidney transplantation and robotic donor nephrectomy program at Guy's Hospital. This is the biggest robotic transplant program in the UK.
As part of his research he has developed a training model for robotic kidney transplantation. He also performs children's kidney transplantation at Evelina London Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Before joining Guy's and St Thomas' in 2013, Ioannis was a consultant in general surgery and kidney transplantation in Athens, Greece.
Education and training
Ioannis received his undergraduate medical education and general surgery training at the University of Athens, Greece.
He has a PhD in hepatocyte transplantation.
