Jan Schumacher

Consultant anaesthetist

Biography

Jan Schumacher is a consultant anaesthetist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. 

He sits on committees for the British Standards Institution and the International Organization for Standardization.

He has been an examiner for the European Diploma of Anaesthesia. 

He was the research and development lead for anaesthesia at Guy's and St Thomas'. 

He has been a specialist in anaesthesia and a medical command officer in Germany.

Education and training

Jan started his medical training as a combat medic in the Armed Forces and undertook his pre-graduate education at the University of Hamburg and later at Charing Cross Medical School, London.
