Biography
After completing her dermatology training in South East London, Jemima Mellerio was appointed as a consultant dermatologist at St John's Institute of Dermatology in 2003. Her special interests include all areas of paediatric dermatology and genetic skin diseases including epidermolysis bullosa (EB), ichthyosis and other disorders of keratinisation. She leads the National Adult EB Service and is chief of St John's Institute of Dermatology. Between 2003 and 2017 she was also consultant dermatologist to the National Paediatric EB Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Research interests
Jemima has a strong track record of basic science research into genetic skin diseases as well as experience of research and clinical trials into novel translational therapies including gene and cell therapy approaches. She has over 140 peer-reviewed publications and lectures widely nationally and internationally.
