Kathleen Fan
Consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgery
Biography
Kathleen Fan was appointed as a consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Feburary 2008. She is dually qualified in medicine and dentistry from St Batholomews' and The Royal London Hospital 2000 (MBBS) and Guy's Hospital in 1990 (BDS). She completed her training in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2007 and is also accrediated in oral surgery.
She undertook her specialist training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Guy's Hospital and King's College Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital East Grinstead, Kent and Canterbury Hospital, having previously completed her core surgical training in Kingston Hospital.
Kathy was awarded a PhD at University College London in 1998 for her work in photodynamic therapy in head and neck cancer and was subsequently part of the Department of Health working party on the application of photodynamic therapy.
Kathy is registered on the oral and maxillofacial surgery specialist list on the General Medical Council (GMC) and the oral surgery specialist list with the General Dental Council.
