Shahzad Ilyas


Consultant interventional radiologist


Shahzad Ilyas graduated from the Imperial College school of medicine. He completed his basic surgical training in London and postgraduate training in clinical radiology in Cambridge. He then completed a fellowship at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

He has been a consultant in interventional radiology at Guy's and St Thomas' since 2015.

Research interests

Shahzad has written several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He has given numerous invited lectures at national and international conferences.

He co-authored the first quality assurance and standards of practice document for interventional oncology. This was adapted by the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe into an international accreditation system.
