I've been here 11 years. It's a complete privilege to be the Chief Nurse at Guy's and St Thomas'. It's a fantastic organisation.
Every single person who comes to work at Guy's and St Thomas' does so because they want to do the best for their patients, but also the best for each other.
I would describe the culture at Guy's and St Thomas' as being incredibly supportive, but a culture that is totally committed to getting it right for our patients, but also uniquely, getting it right for each other.
We also want to look after your health and wellbeing. So we have gym, we have a swimming pool, we have a range of activities that we get staff involved in and, because of where we are, we get involved in all of the London activities. We make our staff and our patients just feel part of everything that’s going on.
You will find that Guy's and St Thomas' is often involved in doing leading-edge surgery, running leading-edge services and, as part of that, nurses would always be part of whatever was unfolding in the organisation.
You go with your heart often in the job that you, and the place that you want to come and work in, but you can’t go far wrong by choosing to come and work at Guy's and St Thomas'.
