Join us for an inspiring evening showcasing the power of research in nursing and midwifery.
Led by Professor Mary Wells, director of ACORN, the event will highlight how research transforms care and empowers clinical staff to become research active.
Each talk will be followed by a Q&A session, with a final group discussion to close the evening.

Mary will speak on why research in nursing and midwifery is important and how ACORN supports our staff to be research aware and research active.
Understanding how pregnant and postnatal women with two or more long-term health conditions (MLTC) use health services and experience midwifery care, 5:45pm to 6pm
Zoe Vowles, midwife and current NIHR doctoral student
Zoe will speak about the study on the care of women with multiple co-morbidities.
Questions and answers session
Compassionate communication in cancer care, 6pm to 6:15pm
Dr Liz Dunn, education and patient experience lead
Liz is a nurse and King's Health Partners postdoctoral fellow. She will present her work on developing a compassionate communication in cancer education programme.

Rona Inniss, clinical nurse specialist, neurofibromatosis
Rona has been an ACORN intern and a pre-doctoral fellow. She will soon commence an NIHR fellowship and will talk about her research journey.
Improving care for inherited heart conditions through nurse-led research, 6:30pm to 6:45pm
Dr Tootie Bueser, director for nursing & midwifery, South East Genomic Medicine Service Alliance
Tootie will talk about her post-doctoral work in genomics.
