Tina Khan, consultant cardiologist and clinical lead for preventive cardiology services

Tina will explain about the role of cholesterol and its role in the risk of heart disease. She will also talk about all the current treatment options.

Lipoprotein apheresis – history and application, 6:05pm to 6:25pm

Alison Pottle, consultant nurse in cardiology

Alison will talk about the history of apheresis, how it works and explain about the provision in the UK.

Experience in the apheresis unit at Harefield, 6:25pm to 6:45pm

Joanne Senior, clinical nurse specialist

Jo will finish with some data from the unit at Harefield which will have been in operation for 25 years on November 6 2025.
