Dozens of runners crossed the London Marathon finish line to raise more than £110,000 for the Trust.

Thirty-five runners were running for Evelina London Children’s Hospital and 18 ran on behalf of Guy’s and St Thomas’.

They were cheered on by family, friends and Trust staff along the 26.2 mile course.

Among the runners was Yuri Gupta, a doctor at St Thomas’. The marathon marked the end of an era for Yuri as he prepares to move to Canada for a one-year fellowship this summer.

He said: “I'll be leaving the hospital where I met my wife as a medical student and where I’ve undergone all the highs and lows of junior doctor-hood. It seemed only fitting to give something back to this exceptional institution, which cares for so many patients and has nurtured a very fortunate career for me.

“Running the London Marathon for Guy’s and St Thomas’ seemed the most appropriate way to commemorate the end of an era and say thank you and goodbye to the hospital and to the city of London.”

If you would like to run for the Trust in the 2015 London Marathon you can apply online.
