Congratulations to Thelma Bangura who will join our Foundation Trust Council of Governors on 1 September.
Thelma was elected unopposed as a staff governor to represent the interests and articulate the views of staff working in the Trust’s community services in Lambeth and Southwark.
She was the only member of staff to nominate themselves for election and so she was duly elected to the Council of Governors without the need for a vote.
Thelma works as an NHS Health Check specialist nurse based in the Mary Sheridan Centre in Kennington.
She says: “I stood for election to the governor role to represent the best interests of patients, staff, and local community and partner organisations and I plan to be an advocate strengthening the connections between the Trust and our local communities.
“I feel I can work closely in collaboration with the Board of Directors on long-term planning and future service improvements.”
