Guy’s and St Thomas’ has been shortlisted in four categories of the NHS Sustainability Awards 2015.
This prestigious national awards scheme recognises the achievements of health service organisations across the country in reducing their environmental impact.
The shortlisting success highlights the Trust’s achievements in promoting efficiency in its use of resources. The Trust has been shortlisted in the energy, water, waste, and procurement categories.
Alexandra Hammond, associate director for sustainability, says: “We are hugely excited to be in the running for these awards and are committed to becoming as sustainable an organisation as possible.
“It’s fantastic that our efforts are being showcased as positive examples to share with others in the NHS.”
In 2014 the Trust won the NHS Sustainability Award for procurement and was also highly commended for its energy management and behaviour change projects.
The winners of the NHS Sustainability Awards 2015 will be announced on 16 April.
