European Society of Cardiology Congress 2015
Heart experts from Guy’s and St Thomas’ are set to meet with colleagues from all over the world to discuss the latest developments in heart-related healthcare at a major international conference.
The European Society of Cardiology Congress 2015, which is being held at the ExCeL London convention centre from 29 August to 2 September, is the world’s largest gathering of heart doctors.
Dr Bernard Prendergast, consultant cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’, will be sharing his expertise on preventing infective endocarditis, a potentially fatal inflammation of the inner tissues of the heart.
Dr Prendergast, who is due to deliver his lecture on Sunday, says: “This congress is the world’s largest gathering of heart specialists and is a great opportunity to learn about the most recent research findings and changes in clinical practice that can benefit our patients.
“We’re very lucky that the congress is taking place here in London as it means that cardiologists from Guy’s and St Thomas’ will be well-represented and will be making valuable contributions to the event.”
