A new edition of the GiST, the award-winning magazine from Guy’s and St Thomas', is out now.

The magazine’s cover features His Majesty The King meeting patients at the Cancer Centre at Guy’s, which was one of two Royal visits our Trust has enjoyed in recent months. His Majesty’s visit formed part of our celebrations to mark the 300th anniversary of Guy’s Hospital, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Cancer Centre first opening its doors. 

This was followed by a wonderful visit from Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales to Evelina London Children’s Hospital. The Princess is Royal Patron of Evelina London, and her visit included meeting young patients, families and staff as well as hearing about the hospital’s ambitious plans to provide even better care for children and young people.

In other articles, we celebrate 15 years of the Trust’s community services, which are helping more people access care close to home without unnecessary trips to hospital. We also look at the inspiring work of the heart biobank at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, and explore how clinical research across the Trust is improving patient care.
