Biography

Thomas Smith is consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

His practice spans a full spectrum of pain medicine, including:

  • surgical neuromodulation procedures and pain blocks
  • pain medicines
  • psychology and physical therapy based pain management

He is passionate about improving chronic pain treatment options and strongly promotes the use of multidisciplinary teams for complex pain problems.

Thomas is involved as an investigator in multicentre European trials of potential new therapies.

He also teaches and lectures on long-term pain.
