How to get an appointment

Your GP or another health professional working at Guy's and St Thomas' can refer you.

Changing or cancelling your appointment

Before your appointment

You can eat and drink as normal before your appointment.

During your appointment

At your appointment you may have a:

• mammogram (X-ray of your breast)
• breast ultrasound
• breast biopsy

Information about any examinations or scans you may need will be in your appointment letter.

After your appointment

We will send you and your GP a letter with your results. If you do not get a letter within 2 weeks, please call 020 7188 1469.

Our booking team will contact you by phone or letter if you need a follow-up appointment in the breast unit.

If you are a breast cancer patient and want to speak to a nurse, please call our breast care nurses.
