Haematological cancer referrals

Diagnosing and treating blood cancers

Cancer

Patients must be referred by a health care professional or relevant member of staff.

Haematology consultants at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital and King’s College hospital have agreed a joint adult haematology referral guide (PDF 378Kb) to support GPs in referring patients for haematology.

As well as the detailed guide, there’s a summary quick guide (PDF 304Kb) for easy reference that summarises the key points. Please refer via e-RS and ensure all relevant results are sent with the referral.

See the following links for more information on how to make a haematological cancer referral.

Urgent/two week wait referrals

All GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral service (formerly Choose and Book).

Referrals sent to the nhs.net mailbox or by post from GPs will not be processed.

All non-GP referrals, e.g. dentists, can be emailed to gst-tr.2wwgstt@nhs.net
