Biography
Dan Smith is a consultant clincial oncologist specialising in the treatment of lung cancer, mesothelioma and breast cancer.
He qualified from Cambridge University (BA) and University College, London (MB BS) and undertook specialist training in North and East London, including St Bartholomew's Hospital, publishing research into potential markers of radiosensitivity.
He was appointed consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 2011 and is the clinical lead for lung cancer within the Trust. He is the principal investigator of several thoracic cancer trials and has interests in advanced radiotherapy techniques, integration with new systemic therapies and the use of real world data to supplement clinical trial results. He gives post-operative radiotherapy for benign orthopaedic conditions such as heterotopic ossification.
