Biography

Elinor Sawyer has been a consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust since 2005. She also leads the molecular breast cancer genetics research group at King's College London.

She is involved in a number of breast cancer clinical trials and leads the Guy's breast cancer radiotherapy development group.

Research interests

  • Molecular genetics of breast cancer, particularly lobular breast cancer
  • Molecular genetics of pre-invasive disease, particularly ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and Lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS)
  • Genetic predisposition to breast cancer
  • Identification of biomarkers that predict progression of LCIS and DCIS to invasive disease
