  • Biography

    Sarah Pinder is chair of breast pathology at King's College London and head of department of research oncology in the cancer division. She is the lead specialist breast pathologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital/King’s Healthcare Partners and has a large referral practice in addition to her ‘routine’ NHS histopathology workload.

    Sarah chairs the NHS Breast Screening Pathology Coordinating Committee and serves on the National Cancer Intelligence Network (NCIN) Breast Reference Group, CRUK’s Clinical Trials Awards and Advisory Committee (CTAAC), the UK Breast Clinical Reference Group and the Sloane Project (National UK DCIS audit) Steering Group.

    She is also a member of various clinical trial and translational research committees including OPTIMA and the low risk DCIS trial (LORIS).

    • In situ and invasive breast cancer pathology.
  • Research interests

    Sarah's research is focused on breast cancer pathology (both in situ and invasive). Features that predict the behaviour of this very clinically and biologically variable disease are investigated through genomic, molecular and histological techniques.

  • Publications

    Sarah has published approximately 230 articles in peer-reviewed literature, 50 invited review articles and 50 chapters in textbooks.
