Ali Sever studied medicine at the University of Istanbul and radiology residency at the Erasmus University Medical Centre, Rotterdam.
In 1999 he became a consultant radiologist and the clinical director of the breast screening service at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
In 2011 he completed a PhD from the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands about microbubbles and sentinel nodes.
Between 2013 and 2016 he was a professor of radiology in the breast imaging department at the University of Hacettepe, Turkey.
He is currently a consultant radiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, and also participates in the NHS breast screening programme at King's College Hospital.
He has published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has been invited to lecture in international conferences. His practice has been focused on breast imaging for over 20 years, specialising in biopsy techniques using different modalities.
