  • Biography

    Rebekah Schiff has been a consultant geriatrician and general physician at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust since 2004. She has extensive experience in inpatient care of older adults both in hospital, intermediate care and community settings. Special interests and research areas include, cardiology older adults especially atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure (NICE guideline committee member), end of life care (Advisory committee for National audit at the end of life), medication related problems in older people, intermediate and integrated care, nursing home care.

    She was the clinical lead for the Department of Ageing and Health for nine years (2009-18), a department with a national and international reputation for high quality innovative hospital and community care for older people. She was instrumental in bringing together the integrated care pathway for older adults within Lambeth and Southwark including developing the acute older persons unit (frailty unit) within the emergency floor, supporting the creation of the Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital @home service and increasing community geriatrician support to those living both at home and in care homes.

    She runs a novel one year junior doctor educational clinical rotation across the integrated care pathway for nine doctors. Rebekah is the Mental Capacity Act Trust lead.
