Jean-Pierre Jeannon MBChB FRCS (OTO) FRCS (ORL-HNS) is a consultant ear, nose and throat (ENT) – head and neck surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
He is an honorary reader (associate professor) in head and neck surgery at King's College London, University of London.
Jean-Pierre is clinical director of the surgical oncology directorate (head and neck, breast, ENT-audiology and thoracic surgery) at Guy’s Hospital. He is a member of the Court of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Jean-Pierre was born in London and graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School. He undertook his basic surgical training in Birmingham and his higher ENT surgical training in Newcastle upon Tyne. There he spent one year at the Cancer Research Unit studying molecular markers in head and neck cancer. He spent an additional year of advanced head and neck surgical fellowship training at the University of Toronto and Princess Margaret Hospital.
In 2001 he was appointed consultant head and neck surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. During his seven years of consultant practice he has helped develop and reorganise head and neck cancer services in south east London. This is now one of the largest head and neck centres in the UK managing over 450 new cases per year.
