Area of expertise: adult neurology and movement disorders (Parkinson's and Huntington's disease)

  • Biography

    Thomasin Andrews BSc MD FRCP was appointed consultant neurologist in 2003. She runs general neurology clinics and specialist movement disorder and Huntington's disease clinics.

    With Stella Gay, Parkinson's nurse specialist, and colleagues in the ageing and health department, Thomasin runs the Parkinson’s disease service at the Trust.

  • Education and training

    Thomasin Andrews trained at University College London and intercalated in physiology and neurophysiology. She completed general medical training at Bart’s and the Royal Free and spent a year as medical registrar at St Peter's Hosiptal in Chertsey. She undertook a three-year research degree with Professor Brooks at the MRC Cyclotron Unit, Imperial College London, investigating the use of positron emission tomography in clinical and research studies of Huntington's disease. She completed higher neurology training in London and was appointed consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' in 2003.
