Biography

Charles Bain studied at Bristol University, graduating with honours in medicine, and completed a BSc in medical ethics with first class honours. He then moved to London, where he undertook his plastic surgery training.

Charles completed an aesthetic surgery fellowship learning from internationally renowned London cosmetic surgeons at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London Clinic, Wellington Hospital, Cromwell Hospital and the King Edward VII Hospital. He continued his fellowship training in trauma reconstruction at Imperial College, London, and internationally in hand and wrist surgery at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He then returned to take up a consultant post in plastic surgery at Guys' and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

Charles has completed a Master's degree in aesthetic plastic surgery with distinction and has published book chapters and several scientific papers in the field of aesthetic surgery and hand surgery. He has also completed the hand surgery diploma, the highest subspecialty qualification in hand surgery. Charles has a keen interest in teaching and training the next generation of plastic surgeons in his NHS work, and as invited faculty on a number of training courses.
