Biography

Jennifer Hare became a consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in 2018. She leads the dental psychology service, providing advice for patients with dental phobia, long-term pain in the mouth, jaw or face and orthognathic surgical assessments. 

As well as working directly with patients, she provides clinical supervision and management to other psychologists in Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

Before working in the dental psychology service, she worked across a range of physical health psychology services within the NHS. She has held roles in both community and hospital-based services, including neuro-rehabilitation, renal and dental services.

She contributes to the teaching of dentists within Guy's and St Thomas' and nationally for the Society of the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD), promoting the role of psychological perspectives for anxiety management and risk screening among patients.

She is registered as a practitioner psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and holds full accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP).
