We accept referrals from all medical professionals, including GPs, and are happy to give advice over the phone. Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) who would like to attend our clinic should get in touch with the XP specialist nurses on either of the numbers above, or ask their doctor to refer them.
GP referrals
All GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral service (formerly Choose and Book). You need to do this within 24 hours of your consultation with your patient.
Referrals sent by email or post from GPs will not be processed.
Non-GP referrals
All non-GP referrals can be emailed to gst-tr.xp@nhs.net or posted to the address above.
Referrals from other hospitals must include a completed Inter-Provider Minimum Data Set or ensure that one is sent within 48 hours of referring a patient.
Inclusion criteria
- Skin cancer history, along with histology reports.
- Relevant blood test results, including Vitamin D level.
- Other test results if known, eg audiology, MRI, EMG.
- If an interpreter is needed.
- The patient's telephone number.
