How to get an appointment

Your GP or other health professional can refer you.

Changing or cancelling your appointment

Phone: 020 7188 6248 or 020 7188 0847

Email: [email protected]

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel your appointment so we can offer your appointment to someone else.

Before your appointment

Please bring:

  • a list of medicines you're taking, including prescription medicines, medicines you have bought and alternative medicines
  • a list of questions you want to ask us

During your appointment

Your appointment will last up to 1 hour.

You'll see a consultant dermatologist or a registrar (senior doctor).

At your first appointment we'll discuss your medical history and examine you. You may need to have a blood test.

You will not have any phototesting or phototherapy at your first appointment.

We're a teaching hospital and sometimes students will be in the clinic to observe. We'll ask you if you're happy for them to be at your appointment. It will not affect your care if you prefer not to have them there.

After your appointment

We'll send a letter to you and your local health team summarising your visit. Please let our receptionist know if you do not want to receive a copy of this letter.

We'll book a follow-up appointment for you if you need to have any tests, such as phototesting or phototherapy.
