Parking at Guy's and St Thomas'

Patients and visitors

More in this section

Parking at Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals and our community services is very limited.

Both of our hospitals and many of our services are located in the Congestion Charging zone. Please use public transport whenever possible.

Parking at St Thomas'

Parking is very limited and there is often a queue. The car park is 'pay on exit', which means you need to pay and get your exit ticket before returning to your car. If you pay by cash, please have the correct change. You can also pay by credit or debit card.

The car park is open 24 hours a day. Charges are £3.20 per hour.

There is also a designated motorcycle area at the entrance to the main car park.

Patient drop-off/collection points

There are signposted patient drop-off/collection points at St Thomas’ Hospital.
These can be found outside Gassiot House Outpatient Centre on the lower ground level.
There is also a security officer on site on weekdays who can provide help.

Charging exceptions

If you're a disabled patient attending an appointment, you'll be given free parking in the main car park upon production of your blue badge (registered in your name) along with your appointment card/letter.

Please take your blue disabled badge (leaving the clock on display if parked in a disable bay), white entry ticket to the car park and appointment letter/card to the Knowledge and Information Centre (KIC) which is located on the ground floor of St Thomas', North Wing. The KIC is open from 8am to 6pm. Outside these hours, please go to the security desk at the main reception.

Parking at Guy's

Between Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm, there is disabled parking only at Guy's Hospital. Vehicles can only access the car park from Crosby Row and not from St Thomas Street or Snowsfield.

This is for patients who are blue badge holders and have an appointment on that day. These disabled parking bays are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis on production of your blue badge (registered in your name) along with your appointment card/letter.

There are two electric car charging points in the car park.

Patient drop-off/collection points

There are patient drop-off/collection bays at the hospital's main entrance.

Outside of these hours, general pay and display parking is available at a cost of £3.20 per hour - the pay and display machine (change only) is beside the security hut.

There is an NCP car park at the junction of Snowsfields and Kipling Street, about a five minute walk from the hospital. Charges are displayed at the entrance.

Parking at our community services

Parking at our health centres in Lambeth and Southwark is very limited, and we advise patients to use public transport where possible.
