Our financial rating
NHS Improvement, the independent organisation which regulates health services in England, regularly reviews the financial performance of all NHS foundation trusts such as Guy’s and St Thomas’.
NHS Improvement's Single Oversight Framework focuses on two things – whether we have enough cash in the bank to meet our day-to-day operating expenses, and whether we can afford to meet interest on any loans.
How are we doing?
Foundation trust ratings are published on the NHS Improvement website.
Monitor updates foundation trusts’ ratings each quarter and also in ‘real time’ to reflect any regulatory action taken.
Our current borrowing is from the Independent Trust Financing Facility helped us build the new Cancer Centre at Guy’s and support other improvements to our buildings and services.
