Our quality story

Staff Friends and Family Test

The Staff Friends and Family Test is a scheme that reports the views of thousands of employees in the NHS.

The test runs three times a year and aims to provide a snapshot of what staff think about where they work.

Our staff are asked two questions:

  • How likely are you to recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to friends and family if they needed care or treatment?
  • How likely are you to recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to friends and family as a place to work?

What's the standard?

We are expected to to provide staff with the option of completing the Friends and Family Test at least once a year. It's open to all staff working on Trust sites, including volunteers and contractors.

How are we doing?

Our staff are asked to complete the Staff Friends and Family Test three times a year. They consistently rate the Trust higher than the national average when asked whether they would recommend Guy's and St Thomas' as a place to be treated and if they would recommend us a place to work.
