Our quality story

Asking patients what they think

Each year, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) asks us to send a questionnaire to 850 patients who have been treated in our hospitals. This covers a range of topics and forms part of the CQC’s assessment of our services.

There are also dedicated questionnaires for areas such as maternity, outpatient clinics and A&E.

How are we doing?

Results from these questionnaires are published on the CQC website. They enable us to compare how we are doing with other trusts.

Five questions from the CQC survey are reported in our quality accounts.

How you can help us

You can give your feedback through the Friends and Family Test, local surveys or by completing a comment card – ask the staff caring for you for details or see the patient feedback section on our website.

If you have been a patient or live locally, you can also get involved by becoming a member of our Foundation Trust.

Doing the Friends and Family Test

In addition to the surveys, many patients are asked to complete the Friends and Family Test. We use all this information to improve our services.

Please take the time to let us know what you think if you are asked to do so.
