PALS office opening

A brand new office for the patient advice and liaison service (PALS) has opened at the main entrance to St Thomas’ Hospital.

The new location for the PALS office at St Thomas’ will improve accessibility and confidentiality for patients and carers. Prominently positioned close to the hospital’s main reception desk, the PALS office is easily identifiable and contains a private room where patients can talk to members of the PALS team discretely.

The office was opened by Karen Proctor, director of nursing adult services, who said: ”PALS is a crucial service for keeping patients informed and for listening to their views. This marvellous new facility has enhanced the service that we can provide to our patients and their carers.”

PALS gives patients and carers information about health care services and the choices available to them at Guy’s and St Thomas’. PALS also receives comments, compliments or concerns about patients’ experiences.

The PALS team have offices at both Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals and these are now open from 9am-5pm.
