Two apprentices from Guy’s and St Thomas’ picked up awards at the regional finals of the National Apprenticeship Awards.

Jessica Eley, dental nurse apprentice, won Advanced Apprentice of the Year, while Danielle Lebby, business admin apprentice at the London Procurement Partnership, won Intermediate Apprentice of the Year.

Kiran Kaur, business admin apprentice, was also highly commended in the Intermediate Apprentice of the Year category.

Jessica and Danielle will now go through to the National Awards which take place on Wednesday 28 November.

The annual awards celebrate outstanding apprentices, employers and individuals who go above and beyond to champion apprenticeships.

Business admin apprentices Kiran Kaur and Sonia Cardozo are also celebrating after being shortlisted for the Asian Apprenticeship Awards.

Kiran is recognised in the Health Medical and Social Care category, while Sonia is nominated in the Charity, Voluntary and Public Services category.

Now in its third year, the awards celebrate the talent and diversity of British Asian apprentices, their employers and learning providers.

Winners will be announced at an event in Birmingham on Thursday 29 November.

Courtney Sherwell, apprenticeship coordinator at Guy’s and St Thomas’, says: “We’re so proud to have a number of our apprentices not only shortlisted for prestigious awards, but winning them!

“It’s great that their dedication and hard work has been recognised and that our programme enables them to achieve their potential.

“Taking on an apprentice can be a fantastic way of bringing new ideas, different skills and extra capacity to teams at the Trust and I hope these awards help others to realise just how successful our programme is.”
