Mobile blood tests

Providing blood tests at home

We have started a mobile blood test (phlebotomy) service for our patients who are shielding, self-isolating, or due for a virtual appointment. This service is run by CHS Healthcare and provides blood tests at home. It will reduce the need for you to visit the hospital for a blood test during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Who are CHS Healthcare?

CHS Healthcare brings together the NHS, social care, providers and families to support patients in hospitals and the community. They have been established for 25 years and support more than 25,000 patients each year. Visit the CHS Healthcare website for more information.

How do I get an appointment?

You will be contacted by CHS Healthcare by telephone to arrange an appointment.

  • Changing your appointment

Please call CHS Healthcare administrators on 07833 106005 or 07833 105687.

  • Before your appointment

Please drink plenty of water before your blood test unless advised not to by your doctor.

  • What to expect at your appointment

The phlebotomist will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) for your protection and will do the necessary blood tests.

The blood samples will be sent to Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

  • After your appointment

Results will be reviewed by the clinician who requested your blood test.
