Coronavirus: skin cancer update

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, please read our advice and information before sending any referrals.

Who can refer

Patients are referred by their GP or another hospital.

How to refer

For different specialities within the service referral letters need to be emailed to the below.

To ensure clinicians have all material available at our team meetings, please ensure pathology is sent to our histopathology department when the referral letter is sent.

For suspected skin cancers

  • Skin cancer screening clinic – two week wait pathway, all referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral service (formerly Choose and Book).

Urgent/two week wait referrals

All GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral service (formerly Choose and Book).

Referrals sent to the mailbox or by post from GPs will not be processed.

Please speak to your patient about potential biopsies being carried out under local anaesthetic on the day of their appointment. This will help your patient be prepared for this possibility.
