Skin cancer

Referrals

We accept referrals from GPs and doctors at other hospitals (tertiary referrals).

Please do not send referrals by post

We will not process any referrals sent by post.

If you send a referral by post, we'll contact you for an electronic version.

GP referrals

GPs should make referrals using the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS). This includes urgent and 2-week wait (2WW) referrals. Please follow the guidance on e-RS.

If your patient has suspected skin cancer but no definitive diagnosis, please refer them to our skin cancer assessment clinic.

Referrals from other hospitals

Other hospital doctors can make their referral by email only.

We'll check all referrals and send them to the most appropriate skin cancer clinic.

All referrals should include:

  • a referral letter
  • all relevant histopathology and imaging reports (due to GDPR, all reports must include patient demographics)
  • an inter-provider minimum data set

Please send as separate documents.
