Radiotherapy is based on the ground floor of Guy’s Cancer at Queen Mary's Hospital (QMH). Our radiotherapy machines are state-of-the-art linear accelerators (linacs).
The treatment suite offers a quiet environment, and staff will give you the opportunity to listen to music to help you relax if you wish.
Most radiotherapy planning and treatment can take place in Guy’s Cancer at QMH, but for some types of treatment you may be asked to attend Guy’s Cancer in a different location.
Chemotherapy is on the first floor of Guy’s Cancer at QMH. There are two treatment suites. Your nurse will meet you in the waiting area and show you to the treatment suite when it is time for your appointment.
You will be invited to Guy’s Cancer at QMH for your pre-chemotherapy consultation as well as for your treatment.
If you suddenly become unwell during your treatment you may be assessed and treated before being sent home or, if necessary, you may be transferred to another hospital. Before you go home you may be asked to go to the reception desk to arrange further appointments.
