Please let us know at least 2 days before your appointment if you cannot come.

Before your appointment

Please bring:

  • a list of medicines you're taking
  • any previous medical letters
  • any blood test results you have

We'll ask you to complete a set of questionnaires before the appointment. We may send them by text message or give you them at your appointment.

During your appointment

Your appointment can be:

  • face-to-face
  • by telephone
  • by video call

We'll provide you with information on how to join your video appointment.

First appointment

This is an online group session with a specialist dietitian. We'll tell you about the treatment options we offer. It is a chance to start thinking about your treatment plan.

Second appointment

This is usually an individual face-to-face appointment. You'll have a chance to:

  • talk about your concerns
  • ask questions
  • start to build a plan for your treatment

We may ask you to complete some questionnaires. We'll organise any blood tests or other investigations you need.

We'll work out the best treatment plan together. This will be individual to you and might involve:

  • seeing more than one health professional, such as a dietitian or psychologist
  • individual or group sessions

We're a teaching hospital and we may ask if students can sit in on your appointments. It won't affect your care if you say no.

After your appointment

We'll send a letter to you and your GP with details of what was talked about at your appointment. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
