-
Cancelling or changing your appointment
- for appointments at Bowley Close Rehabilitation Centre: call 020 3049 7776
- for existing patients at King’s College Hospital: call 020 3299 3646.
-
Before your appointment
Please bring any orthotic devices you have previously been provided with.
-
What to expect at your appointment
Your appointment will be with one of our state registered orthotists. The orthotists are qualified professionals responsible for the assessment, prescription, design, manufacture and fitting of orthoses. The orthotists work collaboratively with medical staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation engineers, prosthetists and podiatrists. Consequently these professionals may be present during your appointment if appropriate.
Appointments are for 30 minutes and may be longer for complex assessments.
Students
We support student training and will always ask your permission for students to be present at your appointment. Please note that students will never be present during counselling sessions.
-
After your appointment
The orthotist will give you guidance on your orthosis and how to care for it. Reviews will be arranged as necessary. When appropriate, your orthotist will liaise with your referrer to keep them informed of how your orthotic therapy is progressing.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call 020 3049 7776.

Support groups
At the Bowley Close Rehabilitation Centre, we host a quarterly meeting which is open to everyone, known as the Rehabilitation User Network Group (RUNG).
It is also an opportunity for patients to see how the service is performing, and to be involved in the development of the service and patient survey action plans.
