Your appointment

We offer phone and face-to-face appointments.

Clinics are held at both Guy's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital. Please check your appointment details for the location of your appointment.

How to get an appointment

You can be referred by your GP or specialist doctor.

If you do not attend your appointment once, we'll re-book it for you. If you do not attend a second time, you may be discharged from our service.

Before your appointment

Please bring:

  • a list of medicines you're taking
  • a person who saw your seizure, or ask them to write down what they saw

If you've had a suspected seizure:

  • do not to drive (in line with  DVLA guidance)
  • avoid dangerous machinery and working at heights
  • shower rather than go in the bath

You may need to have tests such as an EEG before your appointment. We will contact you to arrange these.

During your appointment

For face-to-face appointments, please arrive no more than 30 minutes early.

Your appointment will last around 10 to 30 minutes.

During your appointment, you'll be able to talk about your health with a specialist doctor or nurse and ask any questions.

After your appointment

We'll write to you and your GP with details of the outcome. We'll contact you to arrange any follow-up appointments needed.
